Investigation Concluded in the Murder Case of 24-Year-Old Sarkis Zeynalyan in Abovyan: Details

The investigation into the murder case of 24-year-old Sarkis Zeynalyan, which occurred on November 10, 2025, near a bus stop on the street of the Republic in Abovyan, has been completed by the Kotayk regional investigative department of the RA Investigative Committee.

During the investigation, procedural and evidential actions revealed that brothers A.S. and B.S., having hostile relations with S.Z., learned that he was at the bus stop near the building on the Republic street in Abovyan on November 10, 2025, and went there to carry out their intended crime.

Upon arriving at the scene, B.S., according to a prior distribution of roles, approached S.Z. and S.T., who were together, to draw the attention of the opposing party. During this time, A.S. took out a knife from his pocket and stabbed S.Z. at least eight times in vital areas, including the chest and abdomen. B.S., upon witnessing the first stab, grabbed the victim by the neck, pulling him back to neutralize his resistance, allowing A.S. to strike S.Z. freely and to throw him to the ground.

Afterward, S.Z., wishing to avoid further stabs, ran toward the area across from the bus stop, while A.S. followed him and stabbed the victim four more times, resulting in his death. Additionally, the brothers stole a pistol and five bullets that had fallen on the ground near the bus stop from the victim.

A public criminal proceeding has been initiated against A.S. and B.S. under Article 155, Part 2, Point 8 of the Criminal Code (murder committed by a group of persons) and Article 338, Part 1 (theft of firearms, their main components, military ammunition, explosives or explosive devices). The brothers have been remanded in custody as a preventive measure.

The criminal case has been sent to the supervising prosecutor with an accusatory conclusion. It should be noted that a murder occurred in Abovyan on November 10, where 24-year-old Sarkis Zeynalyan was killed.
