Samvel Karapetyan to Remain Under House Arrest

Businessman Samvel Karapetyan will remain under house arrest. This was reported by his lawyer Aram Vardevanyan on his Facebook page, indicating that the court has rejected their appeal.

Recall that on December 30, the court applied the measure of house arrest and bail against Samvel Karapetyan. It is important to mention that Samvel Karapetyan was detained on June 18, 2025.

A criminal case has been initiated against the businessman under Article 472 (Part 3, Clause 1) of the RA Criminal Code, pertaining to public calls for seizing power. Subsequently, the charges against Samvel Karapetyan were modified. Additional charges included parts 2 and 3 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code (money laundering in especially large amounts using government or service authority or its associated influence).
