Tens of Thousands of Tourists Stranded at Airports

Middle Eastern airports have been closed since March 1 due to ongoing military operations around Iran. According to Armenpress, Israel, Qatar, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates have closed their airspace. Tens of thousands of tourists are stranded at airports.

Emirates Airlines has suspended all flights to and from Dubai. According to Qatar Airways, Qatar's airport is closed at least until the morning of March 2. This has resulted in the closure of major Middle Eastern airports, including Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Doha.

Middle Eastern airlines have canceled over 1,800 flights. According to aviation analytics firm Cirium, the three largest airlines operating at these airports—Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad—typically serve around 90,000 passengers daily.
