New Controversial Resignation in Epstein Case

The Chief Executive Officer of the World Economic Forum, Borge Brende, has announced his resignation. This came just weeks after the forum began an independent investigation into his relationship with businessman Jeffrey Epstein.

It is worth noting that Brende was elected president of the forum in 2017. The materials released by the U.S. Department of Justice in the Epstein case indicate that he dined with Epstein three times and corresponded via email.

Correspondence between Brende and Epstein occurred in 2018 and 2019, during which dinners at the home of the convicted sex offender were discussed. In one of the emails, Epstein sent a picture of a woman whose face was obscured in the document released by the Department of Justice. Brende wrote, “I was right, wasn’t I? Funny,” to which Epstein responded, “Yes. Bad news. Every time I see Miss Piggy, I will think… of you.” Brende replied, “I will come to terms with it. Better to be remembered than forgotten.”

In another message sent in April 2018, Brende stated, “I miss you, sir. Borge.”
