Flying Taxi Will Reduce Travel Time by Four to Five Times
A trial flight of a flying machine developed by the Japanese startup SkyDrive has been conducted in Tokyo. This was reported by TASS.
During the demonstration flight, the vehicle covered approximately 150 meters over Tokyo Bay. It remained in the air for 3.5 minutes.
The SD-05 flying vehicle is powered by batteries and 12 rotor engines, whose blades are similar to those of quadcopters. Designed to accommodate three people, it can travel distances ranging from 15 to 40 kilometers.
Due to its size, the SD-05 can land in places where helicopters cannot. According to the company’s CEO, the cost of flying in the future could be about twice that of traveling by taxi, while the time spent on the road could be reduced by four to five times.
