Armenia Can Follow This Path: Gagik Tsarukyan's Statement

“We must break free from the current situation of 'new demands, threats of force, new concessions from us, and the illusion of peace.' The choice is not between peace and war. It is dishonest to tell our people that other political forces 'want war.' There is no political force in Armenia that desires war.

Our team is heading into the elections with the idea of 'Guaranteed Peace.' Guaranteed peace is a system of agreements secured and controlled by international legal and realistic mechanisms, with clear tools for oversight and responsibility. Any agreement without guarantees is vulnerable.

Armenia must remain committed to its obligations while continuously developing its potential to increase its weight in the region. Armenia must work with allies to create new security guarantees based on realistic grounds. Armenia should also promote the launch of alternative routes and communications (Armenia-Georgia-Russia, Armenia-Iran), while also focusing on the implementation of new large economic projects alongside infrastructural developments. This will significantly enhance our level of security.

Our security should not be based on confrontations that place us at the epicenter of the clash of global powers. It should be grounded on principles of complementarity, overlapping interests, and geopolitical bridges.

Next, I want to address economic security. Without a strong economy, there is no stable diplomacy, no reliable defense, and no complete sovereignty. Economic security is the foundation of national security. We must understand the structure of our economy, the logic of business, and the complex mechanisms of job creation and preservation, ensuring we do not mislead our people with beautiful words and false hopes. Honesty requires the acknowledgment that the EAEU market currently has no realistic alternatives; it offers our economy real breathing space and development potential. It is crucial that we take advantage of these opportunities rather than destroy what exists. Destruction is easy, but the consequences are often tragic.

Within the EAEU framework, we have great resources for development and can take advantage of significant opportunities. Yes, alongside this, we need new technologies, and cooperation with the West (EU, USA) is extremely important. We also have substantial development potential in our relations with China in terms of technology and investments. There is enormous room for work and 'global economic friendship' with India, as well as with the Arab world. Skilled and targeted work is necessary in all these areas.

Peace is guaranteed through internal strength, internal cohesion, sound diplomacy, a rational defense system, economic and multi-faceted effective cooperation with allies, and honest and constructive work with all layers of society. Guaranteed peace is a condition where a person plans their life not just for a month but for years, where parents can think about their children's future with peace of mind, where young people consider staying in their homeland, thriving and starting families, where a businessman invests, confident in predictability, and where a soldier knows there is not only a weapon behind him but also a strong economy, professional diplomacy, and a united society.

Guaranteed peace is the central idea of Armenia's recovery and national revival, which includes united, dedicated, and skilled work by all capable forces and individuals.
