He Has Been Effectively Brought to Power By Me: Trump
US President Donald Trump has stated that Syrian President Ahmad al-Shara has been "effectively brought to power by me" and is now doing a "brilliant job." Trump noted that al-Shara is a "strong and tough man" who has managed to unify the country and "maintains good relations with the Kurds." According to him, Syria is "truly uniting," and the new leader is overseeing critical security processes, including the issue of dangerous terrorists held in prisons.
"He is a tough man; otherwise, he wouldn't have been able to cope with the situation. I spoke with him yesterday, and we discussed the situation in the prisons. Some of the world's most dangerous terrorists are being held in those prisons," the US President claimed.
It should be noted that al-Shara came to power as a result of internal developments and political realignments in Syria. In international media, Trump's statement is seen as a political assessment rather than a description of an official appointment process.
