US Demands Ukraine Not Attend NATO Summit, Politico
The US requires Ukraine not to participate in the NATO summit scheduled to be held in Ankara this summer. This information was reported by Politico, citing diplomatic sources.
According to the publication, in recent months, Washington has also pushed for the reduction of NATO’s peacekeeping mission in Kosovo. Additionally, the American side has expressed the stance that Ukraine and partners from the Indo-Pacific region should not officially attend the alliance’s annual summit.
These actions reflect the White House’s aim to consider NATO strictly as a Euro-Atlantic defensive alliance and to reevaluate the enlargement policy developed over the last decades. No official statements regarding this issue have been published yet.
