Compensation for Agricultural Damage Caused by Hail in the Regions

During its meeting on February 19, the government adopted a decision to fully allocate compensation funds for the partial reimbursement of damages caused to agricultural users due to hailstorms in the regions.

In 2024 and 2025, the damages incurred by agricultural users in the provinces of Aragatsotn, Ararat, Armavir, Gegharkunik, Lori, Shirak, Tavush, and Syunik due to hail amounted to 2,717,357,895 drams. In 2025, the government compensated 1,714,662,611 drams, resulting in partial reimbursements for the communities of Metsamor in Armavir province (for damages incurred in 2024), Armavir and Baghramyan (for damages incurred in 2025), as well as Ashtarak in Aragatsotn province and Gyulagarak in Lori province due to hail damage.

In order to pay the difference between the actual damages and the compensated amounts, a reallocation within the state budget for 2026 has become necessary. To fully satisfy existing financial obligations, a requirement of 1,002,695,284.4 drams will be necessary.
