Shooting on the Zvartnots-Yerevan Highway Leaves One Injured

On the evening of February 16, gunfire was reported at the Zvartnots-Yerevan highway, near the village of Zvartnots, resulting in one citizen being transferred to the Armenia Medical Center.

Law enforcement officials discovered a "Hongqi" brand vehicle at the scene, whose driver collided with a "Nissan" vehicle. Following the collision, the driver exited the car and fired shots at the injured individual with a firearm he had in his possession, before fleeing the scene.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, shortly after the incident, criminal and community police identified and arrested the suspected perpetrator. The suspect has been presented to the investigative body. Preliminary information indicates that he was under the influence and had committed the crime using a hunting weapon registered in his name. The injured person's life is not in danger.
