After 50-Year Entry Ban, Investigations Launched Against Nurlan Saburov

The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan (NSC) has initiated an investigation against stand-up comedian Nurlan Saburov. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the committee, which noted that relevant verification measures are being carried out concerning the artist's actions.

The committee also announced that the article under which the investigation is being conducted will not be made public until its completion. No further details have been provided at this time.

Since January 30, Saburov has been banned from entering the Russian Federation for a period of 50 years. According to law enforcement authorities, this decision was made in consideration of national security, adherence to legislation, and the protection of traditional spiritual and moral values.

Following this announcement, Kazakh activist Marat Turimbetov stated that he has filed a complaint with the Prosecutor General's Office, demanding an inquiry into Saburov's purported plans to deliver ten motorcycles to Russian servicemen in the summer of 2025. In his opinion, such actions could be classified as financing and facilitating mercenary activities, which under Kazakh legislation can carry a penalty of up to 12 years in prison.
