Satik Seyranyan Files Suit Against Petros Ghazaryan

Satik Seyranyan has filed a lawsuit against Petros Ghazaryan. The president of the Journalists' Union, Seyranyan seeks to compel Ghazaryan to refute information deemed defamatory.

The reason for the lawsuit stems from Ghazaryan's Facebook post, in which he stated: “The threat from Solovyov has been defended by Hayk Demoyan, Satik Seyranyan, his Sanjak 24 news, Mika Badalyan, Angela Tovmasyan, and Hrant Bagratyan. Some of them have attacked critics of Solovyov. I am confident they would be pleased if that threat materialized. And now they will join in against Tripi.”

According to the plaintiff, these statements are defamatory, hence Seyranyan demands that Ghazaryan be obligated to deny the slander, along with compensation for defamation in the amount of 1 million drams.

The lawsuit has been assigned to Judge Yerem Yesoyan of the Yerevan General Jurisdiction Civil Court, and no decision regarding its acceptance into proceedings has yet been made.
