Russians and Belarusians Allowed to Compete in Winter Paralympics Under Their National Flags
Russians and Belarusians will be allowed to participate in the Winter Paralympics under their national flags. If athletes win, their national anthems will be played.
Six Russian and four Belarusian athletes have received invitations to compete in the event. Previously, Russian and Belarusian athletes were prohibited from competing under their national symbols. This ban remains in effect for Olympic athletes.
The Winter Paralympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo from March 6 to 15. Approximately 600 athletes will compete in 79 sports.
