Trump Calls California Governor a Loser
US President Donald Trump has criticized and deemed unnecessary the clean energy agreement signed between the UK and the state of California. Earlier, during a visit to the UK, California Governor Gavin Newsom signed a memorandum of understanding with the UK's Energy Minister Ed Miliband regarding cooperation in clean energy technologies, including offshore wind energy. The agreement also aims to expand the entry of British companies into the California market.
“The UK has quite enough problems without dealing with Gavin Newsom,” Trump told Politico, purposely distorting the governor's name so that it sounded like “loser.” The American leader labeled the California governor a loser and claimed that everything he touches turns to waste. Trump added that it is “unnecessary” for Newsom to enter into such agreements and “unwise” for the UK to make deals with him. “His state has become a living hell, and its environmental situation a disaster,” concluded the president.
