Electricity Bills Reduced by 3,000-5,000 Drams for Consumers, Says Chair of ERGC
The Chair of the Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC), Mesrop Manukyan, stated during a press conference: "Since the temporary management was assigned to Electric Networks of Armenia (ENA), the electricity bills for consumers have decreased by 3,000-5,000 drams."
“Based on my personal experience, there have been many instances where strangers approached me in the street, recognizing me and thanking me, indicating that since the assignment of temporary management to ENA, their electricity bills have diminished by 3,000-5,000 drams,” Manukyan added.
He noted that despite this positive outcome, a certain number of complaints have been received from citizens who have doubts and claim they have noticed an increase in their bills. He insisted that the commission will certainly follow up on those complaints.
“I can only speak based on what I have observed and experienced; it is not feasible to agree with opinions based on claims from one or two individuals or non-expert assessments. No instances of bill increases have been recorded at the closed joint-stock company ENA during the month of January,” he stated.
