Casualties and Injuries Decrease, Reports Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, held a working consultation at the Emergency Situations department on February 12, during which the results of the service's operations in 2025 were summarized.

Emergency Situations Service Director Aram Ghazaryan presented the work carried out by structural and territorial subdivisions of the service during the reporting period, noting that 18,586 emergency incidents and accidents were recorded in the republic. The subdivisions of the Emergency Situations Service have saved 202 lives. According to Ghazaryan, despite the increase in the number of emergencies compared to the previous year, the number of casualties has decreased by 59.

There were 9,855 recorded fire incidents, and the number of collapses and landslides decreased by 87 compared to 2024. Commenting on the process of developing the professional knowledge and skills of rescuers, he mentioned that 282 special tactical exercises were conducted, and 923 rescuers underwent retraining, while 494 rescuers were granted qualification ranks.

Ghazaryan emphasized that active steps have been taken in the areas of preparation of the civil defense system, development, and implementation of programs; in the psychological support and medical security department, 4,103 calls were registered.
