Attempted Coup in Kyrgyzstan: Allegations of Russian Involvement

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov has dismissed three ministers, according to reports from "Vzglyad." The dismissed officials include the Minister of Emergency Situations, Bubek Azhikeev, the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Meder Mashiyev, and the Minister of Transport and Communication, Abystar Sirgabaev. The reasons for these extensive personnel changes have not been officially disclosed.

Japarov noted that since independence, politicians have continuously divided the country along north-south lines for personal gain and urged the population not to be deceived. Last week, the president had decided to reform the National Security Committee.

Furthermore, the newspaper has investigated the connection between the recent attempted coup in Kyrgyzstan and Russia. In recent weeks, speculations about potential political upheaval in the republic have intensified; however, Sadyr Japarov has firmly denied such developments.

"There will be no coup or anything of the sort. First, the law does not provide for this, and secondly, such a situation does not exist," said Sadyr Japarov.

It is worth noting that these personnel changes come against the backdrop of the resignation of Japarov's close ally, Tashiev, who stepped down from his position as Deputy Prime Minister and head of the National Security State Committee on February 10. Following this, the speaker of parliament and several other ministers also resigned.
