426 Intoxicated Drivers Identified
From February 9 to 16, during operations conducted in the capital, Yerevan traffic police discovered 4,342 traffic rule violations and relocated 176 vehicles to designated areas. Among these violations, 181 drivers were found to be intoxicated, while 195 were driving without a valid driver's license.
The infractions included 99 cases related to registration plates, 413 for not using seatbelts, 20 for not having child safety seats, 376 for smoking while driving, 233 for using a phone while driving, 335 for pedestrians crossing outside of designated areas, and 1,461 other violations.
Additionally, 139 vehicles were being operated without valid mandatory insurance (APPA), 186 had not undergone technical inspection, 67 had faulty lights, 77 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 87 lacked winter tires. Furthermore, 76 individuals were arrested and taken to Community Police departments on various suspicion-related grounds.
During the same period, in the regions, police identified 13,354 traffic rule violations and relocated 280 vehicles. There were 245 instances of intoxicated drivers, 394 driving without a license, and 16 driving with counterfeit licenses. Other infractions included 245 for registration plate issues, 3,242 for not using seatbelts, 145 for not having child seats, 417 for smoking while driving, 482 for phone usage while driving, 84 for pedestrians crossing outside of designated areas, 1,707 for speeding, and 4,091 other violations.
Of the vehicles, 366 were being operated without mandatory insurance, 865 had not undergone technical inspection, 738 had faulty lights, including 23 trucks, 209 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 381 lacked winter tires. Ten drivers were fined for using non-standard additional amplifiers while driving. Additionally, 53 individuals were arrested and taken to regional Community Police departments on various suspicion-related grounds.
