US Armed Forces Detain Oil Tanker in Indian Ocean

The US Armed Forces have detained an oil tanker in the Indian Ocean that was possibly transporting Iranian oil. According to a statement released by the Pentagon on Sunday, "US forces conducted a search, maritime interdiction, and boarding of the Veronica III without incident in the area of responsibility (AOR) of INDOPACOM (Indo-Pacific Command) yesterday evening."

The statement further noted that "the vessel attempted to violate the quarantine established by President Trump in hopes of escaping."
