Iran Ready for Compromise in Exchange for Lifting Sanctions, Says Deputy Foreign Minister

Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi has announced that the country is prepared to reach compromises to achieve a nuclear agreement with the United States, provided that the Americans agree to discuss lifting sanctions. He made this statement in an interview with the BBC.

Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that "the ball is in America's court," indicating that the U.S. must demonstrate its willingness to negotiate. "We are ready to discuss this and other issues related to our program if they are willing to discuss the sanctions," Takht-Ravanchi stated.

He did not specify whether this means the removal of all or just some sanctions. When asked if Iran would agree to rid itself of its stockpile of more than 400 kg of enriched uranium, Takht-Ravanchi replied that "it is too early to say what will happen during the negotiations."
