Zakharova Comments on Navalny Poisoning Accusations

Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, commented on foreign claims regarding the alleged poisoning of Alexei Navalny during an interview with RIA Novosti. She stated that a comment would be made after the test results are presented.

“At the moment they were supposed to present the results of the investigation into Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2, they raise Navalny's name. When they were officially asked to provide Navalny's test results, they spread sensational stories about the Skripals. When they were asked about the whereabouts of the Skripals... that’s how it went,” she said.

“When the test results are available, when the chemical formulas are accessible, a comment will be made. Without that, all conversations and statements are merely information leaks intended to divert attention from urgent issues in the West,” Zakharova concluded.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has died from poisoning by epibatidine, according to a joint statement from Great Britain, Sweden, France, Germany, and the Netherlands.
