Criminal Proceedings Initiated Against Karekin II, Exit from Armenia Prohibited

The exit of the Supreme Patriarch from Armenia has been prohibited, which is described as a historically shameful act. This was stated by lawyer Ara Zohrebian on his social media page.

“The Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia has initiated criminal proceedings against the Catholicos of All Armenians, accusing him of obstructing the enforcement of a court ruling related to Arman Saroyan. The exit of the Supreme Patriarch from Armenia has been banned, which aims to undermine the upcoming episcopal assembly in Austria. This is a historically shameful act on the part of the authorities,” he noted.
