There Are Joint Investments with the US Under the TRIPP Project, Says Pashinyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan addressed the opposition's claims that the announced funds represent a new debt burden for Armenia. “This is about the Firebird program… The investors themselves have stated that the volume of investments will reach up to $4 billion. This focuses on an artificial intelligence center, which has a very large scale and is a highly prospective investment,” he said.

Pashinyan added that there are also joint investments with the US under the TRIPP project, which is very specific and pertains to border management issues as well as potential cooperation in the nuclear energy sector. “In all these cases, we are talking about investments. Which investments will be public and which will be private will be decided in further discussions. In the case of Firebird, it is private; Armenia will not have any participation,” the Prime Minister stated.

Following a meeting between Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and US Vice President James DeVance, a signing ceremony took place for documents between the Republic of Armenia and the United States of America. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Vice President James DeVance signed a joint statement on the completion of negotiations regarding the agreement on cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the United States of America in the field of peaceful use of nuclear energy. Following the Vice President’s announcement, the topic of investments has been actively discussed in the public sphere. As previously reported, DeVance clarified the issue of American investments in Armenia.
