I Warn Certain Representatives of the Diaspora: There Will Be a Harsh Response, Says Prime Minister

“As of today, on February 13, 2026, we have changed the course of Armenia's history, and now the discussion is about reversing that change. We are not prepared to observe any attempts from the sidelines,” Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized during a press briefing, responding to comments made in defense of church benefactors, including Nubar Afeyan.

“I want to warn certain representatives of the Diaspora that involvement in this conspiratorial plan is seriously undermining the state security of Armenia. The Republic of Armenia will not sit back and watch. There will be a response, and it will be very harsh. Beneath the guise of benefactors, those who have laid eyes on the treasures of Ejmiatsin... I will say, within the bounds of ethical standards, that we will redirect their gaze towards something else, using all available means accessible to the Republic of Armenia,” stated Pashinyan, highlighting that this issue concerns the attempt to take the Armenian Catholicosate outside of Armenia, which will not be allowed.
