Misunderstandings Related to the Compensation System for Healthcare Workers: Avanesyan Clarifies
Health Minister Anahit Avanesyan stated that there were certain misunderstandings regarding the compensation system for healthcare workers and noted that the updated system has been approved. Medical centers are already aware of this new regulation, and she outlined several changes in a video shared on her Facebook page.
“Firstly, I want to say that the amount of compensation for healthcare workers included in the reimbursed prices is the minimum. In other words, at least this much should be allocated by the medical center for compensating the medical staff. Secondly, there was a point that raised concerns that in order to grant compensation higher than these standards some agreements needed to be obtained from the foundation. I’d like to point out that this clause has been removed, and compensation in medical centers, as I have mentioned several times in my speech, will be implemented at least above our established amounts. This means it cannot be set lower than that,” she explained.
Moreover, she added that these minimum amounts have also been revised and provided several examples of how: “In the previous project version, it was stipulated that at least 30% of surgical services should be directed to the healthcare staff. Now it has increased to 35%. For anesthesiology services, it was 5, and it has now become 8. Additionally, for normal and complicated births, the share has increased from 30 to 35,” she noted.
