Putin Will Skip the First Meeting of the Peace Council

Russian and Belarusian presidents will not participate in the inaugural meeting of the Peace Council to be held in Washington, Axios reports. The meeting is scheduled for February 19 at the White House.

Russian President's press secretary Dmitry Peskov told Vedomosti that the president's schedule does not include a trip to the U.S. in the near future.

Belarusian President's press secretary Natalia Eismont also stated that the invitation has been "delayed." She added that Alexander Lukashenko's schedule is already planned.

The Peace Council was established at the initiative of former U.S. President Donald Trump.
