Israel is Looking for Pretexts to Ignite War, Says Larijani
The Secretary of Iran's Supreme National Security Council (SNSC), Ali Larijani, made this statement in an interview with Al Jazeera during a meeting held in Qatar.
“Qatar plays a positive role in mediating between Tehran and Washington regarding nuclear negotiations,” he stated.
“The negotiations have their own path, and they can yield results if conducted with realism and mutual respect,” he asserted, adding that “the missile program is not subject to negotiations.”
“No one has given us nuclear technology. We have acquired it through our internal efforts,” he continued.
Larijani also discussed Israeli Prime Minister's visit to Washington, stating that “Israel is trying to disrupt the negotiation process and is looking for pretexts to ignite war.”
“There will be no negotiations on any matter other than the nuclear program.” He later added, “There is a common understanding with Washington that we do not possess nuclear weapons.”
“We have not received any concrete proposals from Washington, and what took place in Oman was an exchange of messages,” he continued.
