Pashinyan Details the Rehabilitation of the Railway Passing Through Ijevan
In the context of unblocking, there is no railway that is not being discussed for opening or reopening. This was stated by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan during a question-and-answer session with the government in the National Assembly, in response to a question about whether the restoration of the railway connecting Ijevan to Azerbaijan has been discussed with Azerbaijan in the context of unblocking.
“Of course, it is being discussed, but it should also be taken into account that when talking about this section of the railway, unfortunately, there is a landslide in the area of the village of Hagharcin, which has interrupted the railway. However, this is a solvable issue, depending on what kinds of flows will run through that area. In other words, if this railway demonstrates cargo potential and has profitability prospects, it can happen,” said Pashinyan.
The Prime Minister also recalled his statement from yesterday that the export route through Azerbaijan is open for Armenian businesses.
