Moscow Court Fines Telegram 11 Million Rubles

A Russian court has fined the messaging app Telegram 11 million rubles (approximately $142,210.73) for refusing to remove content deemed extremist by the authorities, as reported by the state-run "RIA Novosti."

The state communications watchdog announced on Tuesday that Telegram faces further restrictions from the authorities for failing to address previous violations.

WhatsApp has become unavailable in Russia, with the messenger's domain disappearing from the "Roskomnadzor" DNS database, according to Russian media reports. It was previously reported that discussions were underway to limit Telegram's operations.
