300 Million Dollars Needed for Railway Renovation in Armenia, Says Yeghoyan
In the context of unblocking regional communications, approximately 200-300 million dollars is needed for the restoration and modernization of railway infrastructure in Armenia. This was stated by Arman Yeghoyan, the chairman of the Permanent Commission on European Integration of the National Assembly, during a press conference.
"This several-kilometer railway needs to be restored as quickly as possible so that we can offer infrastructure for goods transportation to the world, including Russia, the East, the West, the North, and the South," said the parliamentarian.
According to Yeghoyan, the reconstruction is needed for the absent 2-3 kilometer section in Yeraskh and a shorter section in Akhuryan. Additionally, it is planned to modernize more than 100 kilometers of existing railway line. To increase speed, it may be possible to replace the wooden supports under the rails with concrete ones.
