The Process of Revoking Driver's Licenses to Be Changed
The National Assembly has presented a bill proposing changes to the process of revocation of driver's licenses, specifically regarding the use of psychiatric and narcological conclusions.
This was announced by Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Armen Ghazaryan while presenting the draft law in the National Assembly. He stated that according to the current practice, during each administrative action, the relevant department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs requests conclusions from narcological and psychiatric institutions regarding the restrictions of the individual in question.
According to Ghazaryan, with the launch of the "Armed" electronic system, it is proposed to implement a mechanism whereby if an individual is registered in the relevant institutions, that information will be reflected in the "Armed" system, and it will be automatically provided in the electronic register of the Ministry of Internal Affairs. As a result, the individual’s right to drive will be revoked.
The deputy minister also informed that based on narcological and psychiatric conclusions, the driving rights of 2,370 individuals were revoked during the period from 2021 to 2025.
