Single-Engine Plane Makes Emergency Landing on Highway in Georgia, Injuries Reported
A single-engine Hawker Beechcraft BE-36 airplane made an emergency landing on a busy highway in Gainesville, Georgia, damaging several vehicles in the process. The aircraft's engine failed shortly after takeoff from Gainesville.
According to the pilot, he attempted to return to the airport as instructed, but realizing he would not make it, he decided to land on the road.
As a result of the incident, two individuals sustained minor injuries and were hospitalized. Law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the matter and assess the extent of the damages.
