Brazil Will Not Support Either the USA or China: President
Brazil has no intention of aligning with either the United States or China, and will guide its foreign policy exclusively by its national interests, stated President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
“I do not choose between China and the United States. I choose what is best for our country,” Lula said during a speech at the Butantan Institute, which was broadcast on social media by his administration.
The politician emphasized that Brazil rejects the logic of unilateral hegemony in international relations and does not seek dominance over other states. The president highlighted that his country is not interested in regional or global supremacy.
Lula noted that the automatic entanglement in conflicts and competitions among major powers does not align with Brazil's interests, and foreign policy decisions should be based on pragmatic considerations, prioritizing national development.
