Alen Simonian Presents Details of Meeting with Lavrov
The President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, has revealed that during his meeting with Sergey Lavrov, the parties presented their concerns and engaged in practical discussions. According to him, the discussions covered various sectors, ranging from investments in Armenia to the organization of Armenian Cultural Days in Russia. Simonian noted that the meeting lasted 1 hour and 40 minutes.
The Chairman of the National Assembly stated that he was not aware of which part of the meeting was closed or open and also did not know that the conversation was being broadcast live.
Simonian mentioned that there was also a brief reference to TRIPP, indicating that discussions took place regarding the potential involvement in the construction, reconstruction, and operation of various infrastructures. He assessed this as a good proposal, emphasizing that he expects a response from the Russian side.
Simonian indicated that during his meeting with Lavrov, he raised all concerns regarding the statements made by Russia, including the discussions about special military operations in Armenian territory. He stated that the Russian side has assured once again that there are no such plans and that these are statements made by individuals.
According to the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Russian side expressed that it is not interested in Armenia's external or internal politics and wished success to the ruling party in the upcoming elections during the meeting.
