Tehran Stresses Its Right to Enrich Uranium Even If It Leads to War: Araqchi
The foreign ministers of Turkey and Iran, Hakan Fidan and Abbas Araqchi, have discussed the current status of negotiations regarding Iran's nuclear program over a phone call, a source from Turkey's foreign ministry reported to RIA Novosti.
"Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan had a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi today. During the conversation, ongoing negotiations regarding the nuclear program were discussed," the source stated.
On January 28, U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the American naval 'fleet' is heading towards Iran. He expressed hope that Tehran would agree to negotiate and reach a 'deal' that involves the complete elimination of nuclear weapons.
Last Friday, U.S. and Iranian delegations held talks regarding the Iranian nuclear program in the capital of Oman, Muscat, and Trump indicated that the negotiations were progressing well and would continue this week.
Meanwhile, the head of the Islamic Republic’s foreign ministry, Abbas Araqchi, stated on Sunday that Tehran insists on its right to enrich uranium, even if it leads to war.
