Additional $4 Billion Long-Term Support for Armenia, Says US Vice President
We are also very proud to announce that our countries have completed negotiations on the 1-2-3 agreement for civil nuclear cooperation. This was stated by US Vice President Jay D. Vence during a joint press conference with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.
“When it is fully confirmed, it will pave the way for American and Armenian companies to enter into agreements regarding civil nuclear projects. This means up to $5 billion in initial American exports, plus an additional $4 billion in long-term support through fuel and service contracts. This is a classic mutually beneficial deal for both Armenia and the United States. This means stronger energy security for my country, and I also believe it means stronger energy security for Armenia, and it will also create numerous new jobs in the USA. This involves small modular reactors, and American technology will come to this country. Again, this is one of the few countries where we have enough confidence to invest at this level and to send this type of technology, and this is happening thanks to the leadership of the Prime Minister,” he noted.
