China Warns Trump's Visit to Beijing Is at Risk

China has warned the United States that the potential sale of American weapons to Taiwan could jeopardize President Donald Trump's upcoming visit to Beijing. This is reported by the Financial Times, citing its sources.

According to the publication, the Trump administration is preparing a major arms sale to Taiwan, which includes four Patriot missile defense systems, along with other armaments. The final value of the deal has yet to be clarified, but some sources estimate it at around $20 billion.

This would mark the second significant arms shipment in recent months. In December, the U.S. had already approved an arms sale to Taiwan amounting to a record $11.1 billion.

The publication reports that Beijing has expressed serious concerns regarding the new package and has communicated to Washington that this move could disrupt Trump's planned visit to China in April. Sources indicate that Chinese President Xi Jinping raised this issue during a phone conversation with Trump.

Experts believe that the American side may delay the advancement of the deal until the conclusion of Trump's visit to China.
