New Housing Mechanism for Servicemen – Minister of Defense

Another reform has been introduced concerning the housing provision for servicemen who have graduated from military educational institutions and hold officer positions in the Ministry of Defense of Armenia or in the border troops of the National Security Service.

The Minister of Defense, Suren Papikyan, released a video detailing the reform. He noted that the apartment will be provided with ownership rights, on the condition that the serviceman serves for a minimum of 20 years in these bodies.

According to him, the amount available to servicemen through certification for purchasing a home will be calculated based on the value of a 80 square meter property in Yerevan, which currently amounts to 35 million drams. At the same time, the serviceman will have the opportunity to acquire this property not only in Yerevan but also in the regions.
