Anti-Corruption Committee Issues Warning About Election Violations
The decree by the President of Armenia on the appointment of the National Assembly elections (No. N-21-N) came into effect on February 7, 2026. This information was provided by the Armenian Anti-Corruption Committee.
According to Article 221 of the Armenian Criminal Code, it is criminally punishable to give or promise any property to voters or provide services under preferential conditions personally or on behalf of a candidate, party (or party alliance) member, or authorized person from the day the decision to call elections comes into effect until the decision on the election of the National Assembly is made. Additionally, carrying out pre-election propaganda simultaneously with charity activities constitutes a violation of the law.
Meanwhile, the Anti-Corruption Committee informs that it will conduct ongoing monitoring and control of the electoral process with all the powers and tools at its disposal, urging parties to refrain from any illegal actions that violate the ban on charity, clarifying that any breaches of legal requirements will face appropriate and strict legal responses.
