Vice President Vance to Visit Armenia and Azerbaijan After Olympic Opening Ceremony
U.S. Vice President Jay D. Vance will visit Armenia and Azerbaijan following his participation in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan. This was reported by the Associated Press.
It is noted that during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics, Vice President Vance will lead the U.S. delegation, which includes his wife, Usha Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and the U.S. Ambassador to Italy, Thlmann Fertita.
"After Italy, Vance will travel to Armenia and Azerbaijan, where Trump has tasked him with developing an agreement aimed at cessation of the forty-year conflict between the two countries," said the Associated Press, without specifying the exact date of the U.S. Vice President's visit.
The opening of the Winter Olympic Games in Milan, Italy, is scheduled for February 6. U.S. President Donald Trump announced at the end of January the upcoming visit of Vice President Jay D. Vance to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
"We will deepen our strategic partnership with Azerbaijan, sign a peace agreement on nuclear cooperation with Armenia, conclude contracts with our semiconductor manufacturers, sell American-made defense equipment to Azerbaijan, such as body armor and motor boats, and much more," wrote President Trump on Truth Social.
