Vens Will Not Go Straight to Azerbaijan After Visiting Armenia, Euronews
The Vice President of the United States, Jay D. Vens, will visit Armenia next Monday, and later this month, he will travel to Azerbaijan. This indicates an increased interest from Washington in the region, particularly in the context of implementing the peace framework agreed upon last year. This was reported by Euronews.
The visit is viewed as part of U.S. efforts to boost trade, investments, and infrastructure development in the region through the TRIPP corridor. At the same time, analysts believe that the success of the initiative requires effective governance and a close transatlantic framework.
“Jay D. Vens’s visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan signifies progress towards the implementation of the 2025 peace framework by the U.S.,” stated Tihomira Kostova, a senior analyst at the Center for Democracy and Economic Research. According to her, the TRIPP corridor could facilitate regional cooperation and foreign investments, but this will only be achievable under strict conditions.
