There Are Questions to Which Yerevan Has Not Yet Received Answers: Alen Simonyan to Lavrov
Armenia and Azerbaijan have made significant progress in the process of normalizing their relations, and a peace treaty is expected to be signed, which is very important for Armenia's future. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in Moscow.
Simonyan noted that Armenia is interested in its relations with Russia and does not wish for a perception to emerge in Moscow that Yerevan is taking steps against Russia. At the same time, he emphasized that there are questions that need to be discussed.
Referring to the CSTO, Alen Simonyan stated that there are issues to which Yerevan has not yet received answers. “We are also concerned about the rhetoric we often hear in the public sphere. It is also troubling the Armenian public,” Simonyan said, adding that the community reacts very negatively to statements coming from Moscow, as Moscow is a partner and important for Armenia.
Speaking about the EAEU, the Speaker of the National Assembly expressed the opinion that Armenia should not withdraw from the Union, and it is possible to find a solution that would be beneficial for both sides.
