White House Announces Downing of Iranian Drone

The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre, has announced that U.S. Central Command forces have shot down an Iranian drone that was reportedly acting aggressively towards a warship.

Earlier, Reuters reported that U.S. military forces had downed an allegedly Iranian drone that was believed to be approaching an American aircraft carrier in the Arabian Sea.

“The U.S. Central Command made the decision to take out this Iranian drone. It was unmanned and was acting aggressively towards our USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, which, as we know, is in the region at the direction of President [Donald] Trump,” Jean-Pierre said in an interview with Fox News.

The White House press secretary believes that this decision was necessary and justified.
