The Impact of Azerbaijani Gasoline on January Inflation, According to Central Bank President
The impact of gasoline imported from Azerbaijan on prices in Armenia will be visible in the January inflation figures. This was announced today by the President of the Central Bank of Armenia, Martin Galstyan, during a meeting with journalists in response to a question from Sputnik Armenia regarding the potential effects of importing goods and unblocking trade with neighboring countries on prices.
Galstyan noted that at this moment, there is no such analysis available, as the volumes of imported gasoline are quite small and limited. However, he emphasized that 'we will see certain impacts as a result of gasoline imports, but I believe they will not be significant.'
According to him, open borders and ensuring the free movement of goods and services, in terms of imports and exports, will generally have a positive effect on the economy.
