Trump Will Force Those Countries to Meet Their Obligations: Politico

U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that he can "very easily" help resolve the financial issues facing the United Nations if the organization's leadership makes such a request. He made this remark during an interview with Politico, while addressing the accumulated debts of UN member countries.

According to Trump, if necessary, he could compel those countries that do not meet their financial obligations to the UN to pay the required amounts. He reminded that during his presidency, he managed to achieve an increase in defense spending by NATO member states.

Earlier, The New York Times, citing senior UN officials, reported that the organization might cut back its operations or even close its headquarters in New York due to depletion of financial resources. Trump rejected this possibility, emphasizing that the UN has significant potential and will not leave New York.
