218 Intoxicated Drivers and 237 Without License Detected in a Week, Ministry of Internal Affairs
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reports that during operations conducted in Yerevan from January 26 to February 2, police discovered 5,823 traffic violations and moved 155 vehicles to a designated area.
Specifically, 218 intoxicated drivers were identified, 237 driving without a driver's license, and 1 person was driving with a fake driver's license. Additionally, there were 83 violations related to registration plates, 667 cases of driving without a seatbelt, 24 instances of driving without a child seat, 573 violations for smoking while driving, 313 for using a phone while driving, 271 for pedestrians crossing in non-designated areas, and 2,265 other violations.
Furthermore, 193 vehicles were operated without an insurance policy, 285 had not passed technical inspection, 84 had malfunctioning headlights, 189 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 147 lacked winter tires. A total of 54 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to Community Police departments.
During the same period in the regions, police detected 13,290 traffic violations and moved 241 vehicles to designated areas. They identified 233 intoxicated drivers, 370 driving without a license, and 11 driving with a fake license. There were also 82 violations related to registration plates, 3,079 for not wearing seatbelts, 183 for driving without a child seat, 419 for smoking while driving, 569 for using a phone while driving, 28 for pedestrians crossing in non-designated areas, 1,912 for speeding, and 4,045 other violations.
Among these, 386 vehicles were operated without insurance, 916 had not passed technical inspection, 724 had malfunctioning headlights, including 29 trucks, 161 had tinted windshields and side windows, and 509 lacked winter tires. Additionally, 13 drivers were fined for using non-compliant amplifiers while driving. Furthermore, 60 individuals were arrested on various suspicions and taken to Community Police territorial divisions.
