The Measure of Restraint Against Bishop Hovnan is Prohibition to Leave
The Bishop of the Gugark Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Hovnan Hakobyan, has been included as a defendant in a criminal case by the Investigative Committee and has provided a signature not to leave. This was reported to journalists by attorney Armine Fanyan.
It was also noted that a measure of restraint has been chosen for Bishop Hovnan, which is the prohibition to leave.
Recall that lawyer Ara Zohrebian had announced that starting this morning, notifications are being handed over to the episcopal members of the Supreme Spiritual Council through the police to appear today at the Investigative Committee as defendants. This is particularly related to the decision made by the Supreme Council to dismiss the leader of the Mashtots Diocese.
The bishops have been summoned to the Investigative Committee in the status of defendants.
