Russia Imposes New Temporary Export Ban on Gasoline, Diesel Fuel, and Other Fuels
The Russian government has imposed a new temporary ban on the export of gasoline, diesel fuel, and other fuels until July 31, 2026. However, according to an announcement posted on the government website, this ban will no longer apply to direct producers of petroleum products.
The export ban aims to maintain stability in the domestic fuel market. Exempting petroleum product producers is intended to mitigate the risk of overloading the production capacities of oil companies, the government emphasized.
The decree takes effect from the day of its official publication. By the end of 2025, the ban on gasoline exports for all exporters (both producers and non-producers) has been extended until March. The government has also extended the ban on diesel fuel exports for non-producer entities, including traders, oil depots, and organizations with an annual fuel production capacity of less than 1 million tons.
