Landslide in Indonesia Leaves 49 Dead
At least 49 people have died as a result of a landslide in Indonesia, with 15 others reported missing, according to Reuters.
The landslide occurred near the village of Pasir Langu in the Bandung Barat region of Indonesia. The disaster was triggered by heavy rainfall.
According to agency reports, among the deceased are 23 soldiers who were undergoing border patrol training at the time.
The report of the landslide in Indonesia was made on January 24. Earlier, Indonesia's meteorological agency had warned of a week's worth of heavy rain in the region.
The landslide occurred in the hilly area of Pasir Langu, located approximately 100 kilometers southeast of Jakarta, and has destroyed over 30 homes.
