EU Will Continue to Tolerate Zelensky: Maria Zakharova

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the roadmap presented by the European Union regarding the financing and development of Ukraine. She stated that EU leadership is ready to continue supporting the current Ukrainian authorities, ignoring the criticisms regarding corruption.

Zakharova also referenced earlier statements made by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, who noted that during the EU leaders' meeting held on January 22, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen presented the roadmap for Ukraine's development. According to Orbán, this document includes several demands from Kyiv.

Particularly, it mentions the provision of up to $800 billion in financial assistance, the expedited membership of Ukraine in the European Union by 2027, and long-term support until 2040. Zakharova emphasized that, in her view, Brussels' political line continues to utilize Ukraine. She stated that the EU will continue to tolerate Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Russian Foreign Ministry representative added that such an approach, in her words, does not align with the interests of European citizens and continues to remain a key component of the EU's current political agenda.
